Free Photography Classes from 2 to 4 pm – For all classes: Late comers are always welcome and stay as long as your schedule permits. Please don’t feel obligated to stay the whole two hours. We know your time is valuable.

10/2/18 – How to Improve Your Photography with the Top Ten Guidelines for Better Composition –
Composition is dependent on you and your ability to encompass what is necessary to produce an exciting photograph. No matter how you focus correctly, or expose correctly, if the image is uninteresting, it will be boring to the viewer. The old saying “Garbage in equals Garbage out” is the order of the day when it comes to proper, or pleasing compositions. All the expensive equipment you want to carry around can not fix a boring composition.

10/3/18 – Lightroom Mobile Class
This class that will teach the basics of Lightroom Mobile. Jeff will be teaching the class on his Apple iPad Pro 12.9. This class is a compliment to our FREE, 8 week (16+ hours in total) Lightroom class.

10/4/18 – Get Your Camera Off Auto and Shoot in Manual
The class will help get people out of automatic mode and into a mindset where they have taken control of the situation whether that be their camera or editing workflow.  This class is for the intermediate or more advanced photographer that has been shooting in full auto or one of the semi automatic modes, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority or Program. If you’re a beginner and you don’t know what the exposure triangle is, this class IS NOT FOR YOU!

10/8 – 10/10/18 – 3-Part Beginning Flash Photography – Over the next 3 days we’ll be exploring the many facets of Beginning Flash Photography.  Many beginners and advanced photographers struggle with flash photography. The many different types of flashes and configuration of flashes and cameras make for a daunting learning experience.
10/8/18 – Part 1 – Today’s class (part 1 of 3) will cover the following topics: Bounced Flash, Use of Diffuser’s, On Camera Flash, Off Camera Flash, Multiple Lights Sources (Natural Light & Flash), Fill Flash, Red-Eye Reduction, Flash White Balance, External Flash Units
10/9/18 – Part 2 – Today’s class (part 2 of 3) will cover the following topics: Flash Ratio, Flash Exposure Modes, Flash Exposure Compensation, TTL Flash Metering, Flash Illumination vs. Distance, Ambient Light Metering, Flash Metering, Exposure Compensation
10/10/18 – Part 3 – Today, we’ll be transforming Second Century Studios Into a mini photo studio as we put into practice what has been learned over the past two classes.  Jeff will be illustrating how to position your lights to achieve lighting ratios that will produces many of the classic and traditional portrait looks.  Todays class (part 3 of 3) will cover the following topics: Loop Lighting, Split Lighting, Butterfly Lighting, Rembrandt Lighting, Broad Lighting, Short Lighting, Key Light, Fill Light, Reflectors

10/11/15 – Learn How to Shoot and Edit Photos for HDR
This afternoon’s topic will be “How to Shoot and Edit Your Photos for HDR.”  HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography has been around for decades. In the film era it was done in the darkroom. Today, we use software like Lightroom, Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to create our HDR images.  Today’s two hour class will cover all the basics of how to make HDR photos. Jeff Donald will walk you through the steps to setup your camera, identify scenes appropriate for HDR and then how to edit them in the software of your choice. We’ll also discuss software like Photomatix and Lightroom to make your HDR images.
