Two statues, “The Spirit of the American Doughboy” and “The Spirit of the American Navy” were donated by the American Legion Post 7 to acknowledge 38 local men who died in World War I.  They were originally dedicated on November 11, 1927 at the opening ceremony of the Memorial Causeway Bridge.  The new Memorial Causeway Bridge was completed in 2005 and the statues were restored and installed on the east end of the bridge in 2006.

The Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, located in Downtown Clearwater, was constructed in 1921 and is one of Florida’s oldest operating theaters.  In 2016, industry trade publication Pollstar named the Capitol Theatre the #42 club venue in the world and within that same ranking, the only Florida venue in the Top 50.  In 2013, the theatre underwent a complete $10 million renovation and is a catalyst for downtown redevelopment.

The theatre is located near the corner of Cleveland Street and Osceola Avenue and situated on what is Clearwater’s original “main street” with a view of Clearwater Harbor.  It is within a short walk to Coachman Park and within a few minutes drive to Clearwater Beach. Ample public parking is available nearby and limited adjacent metered parking is located on Cleveland Street. Valet Service is available for a fee for most events.

Coachman Park is located along the waterfront in Downtown Clearwater west of the main library. This open-air venue provides a magnificent backdrop for concerts, festivals and exhibitions throughout the year. You can listen to some of your favorite national recording artists perform on the Charles Wharton Johnson Pavilion while you take in waterfront views and stroll along brick paved walkways.

Sculpture360 is a rotating exhibition of temporary artwork and is part of the Clearwater Public Art and Design Program. The exhibition is supported through contributions from the City’s Public Art Fund and partnerships with other local donors and organizations.

The Sculpture360 program enters its eighth season along Cleveland Street in the heart of Downtown Clearwater. Season VIII will run from August 2017 – December 2018 and can be viewed in person in the 400-600 blocks of Cleveland Street (Osceola to East avenues).
