Peace Concert Series

WHAT: SOARING VOICES – The wonderful singers of the Tampa Spiritual Ensemble present great arrangements of traditional African-American Spirituals and celebrate compositions by the best of historic and contemporary black composers. You will hear works by Roland Carter, Wm. Dawson and Moses Hogan, including selections such as “Lift Every Voice and Sing” “Ain’t a that Good News” and “Hear my Prayer”.

This group has been pleasing audiences in Tampa Bay and surrounding areas for 8 years. Most members of the ensemble met while singing together at The Univ. of South Florida, in The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, Opera Tampa and other professional ensembles. They quickly formed a friendship and bond through a shared passion of preserving the Negro Spiritual and celebrating African -American composers and arrangers.
