WHAT: A BONUS NEW YEAR’S EVE CONCERT
SPECIAL STRING DUO RECITAL– Prepare to ring in the new year with a wonderful string program. This recital features Violist Chi Lee as she fulfills her doctoral dissertation requirements by playing a program of duets with cello and double bass. The program will include selections by Beethoven, Hindemith, Gliere and Chambers, all composers from different stylistic eras. The rich acoustics of the Peace sanctuary are perfectly suited to enhance the sounds of these instruments.
WHO: CHI LEE, joined The Florida Orchestra as associate principal viola in the 2021-22 season. Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, she came to the United States in 2009. Lee received her bachelor’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, her master’s degree from Rice University, and is currently a candidate for the doctor of musical arts degree at the University of Maryland. For this program she will be joined by Cellist Victor Minke Huls and Double Bassist Paul Nemeth.
