Spyro Gyra returns to the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre with two shows for their 50th Anniversary Tour with Special Guest Jeff Lorber Fusion! Spyro Gyra is known for their stimulating live performances and knack for crafting danceable melodies, the group have issued a steady stream of high-charting albums like 1979’s gold-certified Morning Dance. Radio hits like Shaker Song, Catching the Sun, It Doesn’t Matter, A Winter Tale, and Unwritten Letter keep the band an audience favorite. Long before the coining of the radio-generated buzzwords “New Adult Contemporary” or “Smooth Jazz”, Spyro Gyra was jamming and creating their own instrumental hybrid, incorporating elements of R&B, Latin, Brazilian whatever struck their collective fancy into an infectious sound which just coincidentally became a forerunner of today’s popular style.
