Clearwater Council OKs City Streets Studies

CLEARWATER – City leaders are ready to hit the streets in Clearwater as they have moved forward with plans to create two Complete Streets concept plans – one specifically for Drew Street and a second for the city as a whole.

Council members approved work orders requests from Kimley-Horn and Associates of Tampa to complete the studies Dec. 4 during a work session at city hall.

Senior transportation planner Zane Adam appeared before the council to discuss the projects.

The Drew Street study is expected to lay out guidelines for corridor design improvements from North Osceola Avenue to U.S. 19, utilizing Complete Streets principles, which are designed to make streets safe and accessible for all users and modes of transport, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transits users.
