Downtown Clearwater Short Film Contest 2019
The Clearwater Arts Alliance, Downtown Development Board and city of Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency partnered to find new voices in the Clearwater community to share authentic stories of Downtown Clearwater. We asked for short films (up to 60 seconds) featuring the unique sights, sounds and locations of downtown, using uncommon and inventive perspectives.
Locals Favorite Place to Watch a Sunset
If you find yourself wanting to see a bright and beautiful sunset and know you won't be able to get to the beach, head down Cleveland Street and park along the waterfront. The Clearwater Harbor Marina is less than 2.5 miles from Clearwater Beach and is a great place to view the sunset.
The Capitol Theatre Brings Internationally Known Recording Artists to Clearwater
Constructed in 1921 and one of Florida’s oldest operating theaters, the Capitol Theatre was named #42 on the list of club venues in the world in Pollstar, an industry trade publication. Within that same ranking, the Capitol Theatre is the only Florida venue in the Top 50. In 2013, the theatre underwent a complete $10 million renovation and is a catalyst for downtown redevelopment.
Second Century Studios
Second Century Studios is a co-op art space and offers an opportunity for the city of Clearwater to promote current planning initiative as well as showcase local art. The studio celebrates Clearwater and allows the public to interact with the artists as they produce their latest artistic work.
Clear Sky on Cleveland, Downtown's Global Bistro
Clear Sky on Cleveland is the newest addition to the Clear Sky family of restaurants. This global bistro has a well rounded menu, serves lunch and dinner and has a daily happy hour from 2 – 6 p.m. as well as brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Historic Courthouse in Downtown Clearwater
The act creating Pinellas County was passed by the State Legislature in May 1911. Clearwater became the county seat and operations began January 1, 1912. This regal courthouse, built in 1961 at a cost of $6,000,000, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
